Description

Advantage is a once a month topical flea treatment for cats and kittens over 8 weeks or older and dogs and puppies 7 weeks or older. This product kills 98-100% of the fleas on cats and dogs within 12 hours. Comes in the following sizes - Small Dog Green- for puppies over 6 weeks and small dogs up to 10lbs; Medium Dog Teal for dogs 11-20lbs; Large Dog Red for dogs 21- 55lbs and Extra Large Dog Blue for dogs over 55lbs; Small Cat Orange for cats and kittens up to 9lbs; Large Cat Purple for cats over 9lbs.

Directions
Place the applicator tip through the animals hair to the skin level. On cats, apply to skin on neck at the base of the skull. For dogs up to 20 lbs, apply to skin on back between the shoulder blades. For dogs 21 lbs or over apply the contents of one tube to 3 or 4 spots along the skin on back from the shoulder to the tail. Do not get this product in the pet's eyes or mouth.

Cautions
This product is for external use on dogs 7 weeks or older and cats 8 weeks or older. Consult a veterinarian before using on medicated animals, animals using this product with other pesticides, and debilitated, aged, pregnant or nursing animals. This product causes eye irritation in humans and is harmful if swallowed. Avoid contact with skin. Call poison control center if swallowed. If on skin, wash with plenty of soap and water. If in eyes, flush with plenty of water.

Great stuff and yes, it works on cats - here's how! - The drug in Advantage II for Dogs and Advantage II for Cats is exactly the same drugs (Imidacloprid and Pyriproxyfen) at the exact same concentrations. If you buy this "Large Dog" package, you get four 4ml tubes. If you then empty those into a vial or vials, you can use a syringe (without needle) to apply the right dosage to your dogs AND cats. In fact, if your cats are under 10 pounds, you can get 10 cat doses out of each of these vials. That's a real bargain! I am a former Vet Tech and can assure you I have been doing this for years (with Advantage first, and now Advantage II) with ZERO problems. Use the following chart and you will be fine. Cats up to 9 pounds - 0.4ml Cats 10+ pounds - 0.8ml Dogs 11-20 pounds - 1.0ml Dogs 21-55 pounds - 2.5ml Dogs 55+ pounds - 4.0ml

Works great on fleas - With this product it seems that the fleas are finally gone! I've been trying unsuccessfully for months to control them with cheap products - now I know better. One note though: I bought the Advantage II but really should have bought the Advantix II because it also controls ticks. However, on fleas it works as advertised. If you don't need tick control this is definitely a must product. Also be aware that this product contains the pesticide Permethrin which is highly toxic to cats so if you're in a multi-pet household Frontline might be a better choice.

New Advantage works! - I've been happily using these types of flea medications for 10 years. BUT, I'd given up over the last two years on Advantage and Frontline. They both seemed to have NO EFFECT. Maybe the fleas in my area had become immune? I tried the others from the local big box store, they didn't work either. I thought I'd try this "advantage II", maybe Bayer had changed the forumulation? To my surprise - it worked great! I have two 60 lb dogs (shepherd and golden retriever) who were miserable this summer, as was I, because neither my Shepherd nor I enjoyed weekly baths to try to control the fleas. This stuff is magic. No more fleas on my pets or in my carpets.

Love the product - The flea medication came in good time and took care of my dog's fleas within 12 hours. I'm very satisfied with this product and would also recommend it to others.

aint no bugs on me lol - I just wanted to say I run a cat rescue and with the 6 month supply i can cover over 28 cats and 3 small dogs, i wish you sold the 12 month supply but ill take what i can get and i always remember the puppy on the commercial :there aint no bugs on me there aint no bugs on there may be bugs on some of you mugs but there aint no bugs on me!!!!" had to add that becasue im sure you have all seen it lol have a safe and happy summer!! Great product - We have over 10 cats at any time and this is a godsend. We treat the animals by weight(you can find this info on-line) using the large dog size. It is exactly the same ingredients as the cat one just different dosage. Advantage II is even better! It kills fleas quicker and kills the eggs too. We used to use Frontline Plus but was seeing adult fleas in 1-2 weeks. I am glad we changed to this product. Price is great too.
